Mid-America Retina Consultants is a subspecialty referral practice specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina, vitreous and macula. Appointments are an important part of your treatment, as time has been reserved specifically for you to talk with the doctor and receive treatment.
The diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of retinal diseases require a complete eye examination, which often includes specific testing. The initial retinal exam can last two to four hours.
An adequate retinal examination requires the dilation of pupils at each visit. The dilation may cause blurred vision and sensitivity to light for up to six hours.
We request a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel your appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment and appreciate your cooperation.
Most laser surgeries are performed in our office. More invasive surgical procedures are performed in a hospital setting. Dr. Rosenthal is on staff at several area hospitals.
